I recently bought some vinyl graphics to put on my hull (to name the boat). I have my topsides waxed where the lettering is to go. What is the recommended way to remove the wax before applying the lettering?
I just did the same - the lettering supplier recommended Windex to remove the wax - it worked fine. I used blue painters tape to keep a straight line - that worked too. Good luck
The person that did our boat used brake cleaner. It does a fast and efficient job of getting down to bare gelcoat without harming surface. I just posted the resulting graphics... Good luck!Happy sailing!Pat
My lettering came in the mail yesterday. The instructions said to clean the hull with a water-rubbing alcohol mixture. It didn't specifically say the rubbing alcohol would remove the wax, but I'll give the rubbing alcohol a try first before I try anything else.
