I have a 1977 Catalina 30 in need of either a replacement pushpit(preferred) rail system or a repair. It appears that the boat banged under a dock and bent the upper starboard rail and cracked it at the junction of the stantion. Any help where to find a replacement rail or how to go about a repair? Thanks

Straightening of stainless

Your problem of a bent rail can be fixed by use of a Spanish windlass. I have used it before with great results. Place a heavy loop of rope around the bent area and then place a stronger metal bar with support ajacent to it. Place a metal bar thru the loop and turn till you get the desired results. (Straightened rail). You can then either get it welded, in place, or remove it and take it to someone that can weld stainless....

They abound. You can probably find some in the phone book or ask around for a referral. LaDonna

Try the new rails from Catalina

This upgrade is on my list, and I don't even have damaged ones - yet :) http://www.c34.org/projects/projects-seat.html

Push pit seats

I saw a web site somewhere with pictures af a C30 that had been upgraded to the new push pit seats. He got all of the parts from Catalina and installation was a snap. Everyone I have talked to that has them, love them.
