push buttons

On my Pearson 27 there are two pushbuttons for the engine (glow plug and start). Is it possible to replace the buttons with spring-loaded toggle switches (that are on when you hold them, and go back to off when released). If so, where can I get them? Thanks.

EdOf course there are.Just look in ANY marine catalog, or on the web.Like www.westamrine.com, or www.boatus.com.C'mon guy, it's easy.PSWhy replace a pushbutton with a switch as you've described? All you're doing is chaning a push to a sideways motion.What are you thinking!!!

It's generally easier to waterproof push button switches, than toggle or rocker-arm switches. The rubber boots fit better, and don't have to flex latterally. (I presume yours are cockpit mounted?)The push button itself is much more robust than either alternative.That said: Yes, virtually all switch types are available with a "Momentary On - OFF" configuaration.
