Simply put, repurposing is modifying an object or area to fulfill a function other than intended use. The possibilities are endless and unique to every boat owner.

I can't believe you tile the walls of your head. Doesn't that add a lot of weight to one side of your boat?

My boat has been re-purposed as a tarp storage rack. It works pretty well.

On my Hunter Passage 42 it is not so much that I have repurposed as it is making changes. A couple of the most obvious, and safety related, were: 1) lengthening the lifeline stanchions and replacing the upper wire with stainless tubing; 2) adding mast pulpits that can be climbed and have a flat place to stand at their top. In addition lots of hand holds have been added inside.

My V berth has become a handy sail locker, with easy access from the forward hatch.

The board that’s supposed to be used to make an extra berth out of the U settee makes for a perfect divider: furled asymetric spinnaker on starboard; furled Code 0 (when it’s not set as it is now) on port.
