I'm trying to select an ablative bottom paint that won't break the bank and will keep the slime off of my boat. In the past, we've used West Marine's CPP. It's a good ablative paint, but a brown scum line usually develops within a month of launch. I'd like to give West Marine's Pure Oceans ablative a chance because of it's "greener" qualities, but I'm concerned it will not last as long as the CPP. I know both of these paints are not listed as "anti-slime," but have any of you been able to compare their effectiveness? I'm also thinking of the PCA Gold paint with biocide. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Picked up a gallon this weekend. Didn't see any reviews. It is made by Pettit. I used the cheap West Marine Bottom Shield last time. See how it goes. I like that it has unlimited launch time and suitable for trailerable boats. When storms come, (or oil slicks impending, as currently), I will pull the boat for a time...
