HI,
I'm looking for the roller furling head sail, what size sail should I get for my Hunter 240. I'm new to sailing and it is my first sailboat. Also anybody know the website for the not expensive sails to buy.
Thanks
Andrew

Andrew: The better deal on good quality sales are available on this website. You will be getting a quality sail at a reasonable price. You may find them cheaper (not much) but the quality can be questionable.

I would stick with the original size sail (probably 110). If you get more experience you may want to venture out for something larger, but this is a good size to get you going.

Don't go too big

Because of the layout of the shrouds and mast struts, you're going to run into obstruction problems going much bigger than original size. The rest of the advice is right on.

I will back up what was said as a larger jib will simply not work due to the rigging, lines aft and so forth. What many do not realize is that Hunter designed the boat with a much larger mainsail as that is where the power should be and with the combined sail area of main and jib, you do have alot of sail area. The key to sailing the boat is "flatter is faster" with sail control and very little tension on the rudder. I sailed the boat competitively against some of the best and beat them with that philosophy.

I would suggest looking at an A symettrical spinnaker for light air. My involvement with the 240 started at it's inception and I outsold this boat over all other dealers. I am retired now.
