Same here. Our boat is at Charlotte Harbor Boat Storage, so if anyone else has a boat there we'd like updates or copy what you send to Nick and PM it to us if you would.

Thanks and even though we hope nothing happens to the boat our main concern is for all of you in the Keys, Florida and the Gulf Coast. Hope you and your boats stay well,

Sumner and Ruth

P.S. Nick where are you? Hopefully up on the rim. We were in PHX a couple weeks ago and it was 118. Stop and see us if you get up by us.

So far it looks like a big tropical storm with some hurricane gust. Buckets of rain for several days. Monday 8am will be the closest point. This was the 11am estimate.

So far so good as the guy said when he passed the 50th floor of the Empire state building. Early am forecast was less good than yesterday's but still showed the center offshore.

If my theory holds, early ccw winds will be from the north, blowing water out of the harbor. South winds will not occur till the storm is past. Hope so. High tide Monday just before noon is + 2 feet some inches, don't need much storm surge on top of that to clear the 5 foot seawalls here.

Mary just activated our Verison data plan, so we can use our Mi Fi cell phone access if we loose power/phone. Keep you posted.

Most recent NWS forecast indicates winds from the S pushing a surge of 5-7 ft into the coast from Marco Is. up to and beyond Ft Meyers on Monday.

Our boat is moored at a Key West area marina with good protection from open sea. All the sails are stowed below, dodger and bimini off, nothing loose on deck. There are three independent lines attached to the mooring. Nothing else to do but keep my fingers crossed.

Sunday night offshore Key West forecast:

Hurricane conditions expected. North winds 45 to 65 knots shifting to south to southwest 50 to 65 knots evening with gusts near 80 knots after midnight. Seas 12 to 16 feet. Nearshore waters extremely rough. Showers and scattered thunderstorms.

The 5pm alert has the storm moving a little more west. The cone of death is just scraping by. They are predicting a 5 to 7 foot serge which will be a mess.

I am sure glad I sold my H27 which we kept in Key Largo.. the Keys look like they will be taking a direct hit. Hopefully, it will not have reached hurricane strength by then.

Cheers,
Brad

Thanks All

I do have some one taking care of my boat and will do what ever can be done and will tie some lines to the other side of the canal and I hope we all come through safe and sound,
Nick

Going to be a non event here now in PGI. Pushed even further west. We will still have some high water and rain but no hurricane unless it does a Charley and turns East. The Weather channel has Al Roeker and some chicie braving 25mph winds in Key West.

Good luck to you guys in AL and LA.

I still think it is being steered but all the hot air from the GOP in Tampa.

Just posted mandatory evacuation for ft myers beach, sanibel and captiva and other out islands along the barrier islands. Naples has voluntary evacuation for coastal areas. So not out of the woods yet here all along the coast.

The boat at the next dock to ours in Port Charlotte was a floating write-off after Debby, and another sunk. Two in the next canal had their sails destroyed when they got loose. Debby was further offshore and had less wind than Isaac, although it is not expected that Isaac will last as long. I was unprepared last time and my boat sustained minor damage. I won't make that mistake again. I was grateful that I was able to get a relatively cheap lesson. So I prepped my boat yesterday and anyone looking at it will think the level of overkill is pretty funny, but after this thing passes my boat will still be here and won't likely have damage even if Isaac takes an unexpected turn. I saw a post online from someone bragging that he is in Key West and isn't going to bother preparing for this "tiny" thing. I wish him and everyone else good luck but I prefer to make my own.

Latest tracks are moving farther offshore. The later it goes the better it looks here...
