Pulsating pump...

I recently replaced my fresh water pump because I believed it was on its way out. The primary symptom was that when any one of the faucets was in use, the pump would pulsate rather than run continuously as it had previously done. I took that for a clue that the pressure switch was failing. However, the new pump is doing the same thing! The new pump's switch is rated at 35PSI. Could it be that there is an obstruction somewhere in the lines that is pushing back on the pump and causing it to cycle?

accumulator tank?

If you have one (accumulator tank), it's likely the culprit. Check the tank to make sure there is the proper pressure. If you don't have a tank, install one and that will also solve the problem. Don

Me too!

I have the same problem but only happens when the tank is getting low and it sucks air into the lines. Once I top off the water tank all I hve to do is really open up the faucets(full Blast) to clear the air and then they work great!

Have you checked your pick-up tube in the tank?

I was having the same problem last year despite swapping out several pumps I had on hand. It turned out that the culprit was an almost rotted out pick-up tube inside the tank itself. I replaced the tube and no more pulsating...
