I posted this before but it got marked under the wrong boat size. I have a H26. The double pully block that picks up the main and jib sheets that I am refering to is mounted on the deck next to the mast (not part of the mast). It changes the direction of the lines from vertical to horizontal. The block has a steel shaft that runs thru the 2 pullies. The shaft has come out on one end. I can't access it from the deck side nor can I access it from the cabin side to get the shaft back in place. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone have a solution? HELP!

used new pulleys

I had the same problem with my 23.5. I attached two blocks to the mast base and put the lines on them. If they wear out, then they'll be easy to replace. No more problems.

Question for Frank

I have a similar problem on my 23.5. The shaft mount has wallowed out and I am comtemplating mounting blocks on the mast tabernacle. Which blocks did you use and how did you attach them? What did you do with the existing shaft and sheaves?

I got the blocks used from Crazy Dave I cannot remember what brand they were. They are about two inch blocks and instead of a shackle attachment they have a bolt sticking out of the bottom of them. The bolt fits throught the hole at the base of the mast plate and you put a locking nut underthat to hold it in place. That it at reason those mast plates have holes. If I'm not clear then let me know and I'll try to send you a picture.
