Pulley at the top of the mast for the mainsail

At this point I'm lost, I've ordered just about everything that should work and everything I've received doesn't! I'm at wits end on how to replace the elusive pulley to pull up my mainsail. I ordered a cheekblock for the main halyard; I've asked for a sheave that pulls up the mainsail; I've sent a drawing of what I took off, and still it doesn't look like or do the what was there or have the mounting to do the job. It appears the boat I bought didn't have the original pulley for the main and the one I used last summer was the block for pulling the jib. I don't know what to do at this time and the clock is ticking for bringing the boat to the marina for the summer. Is there anyone out there who has had similar problems on rebuilding a Mac' mast? Mine is a '83 25'ft. and all I want to do is find the right pulley, block, sheave, or whatever the appropriate name is to pull my mainsail up. Can anyone out there give me some direction? (I've tried the parts sites without much help.) Thanks and sorry if this is one of those redundant questions. Rich

I would like to see the picture of what you took off. Mine had no sheaves inside the mast as is normal so I assume they use a block that hangs from something. I decided to use an upright lead block since it offered the fairest path for the halyard. I hope it is strong enough!

Rich - The Mac 25 is before my time as a dealer, but I'll try to help. Do you have two 3/16" holes, one and one-half inches apart, one above the other, near the top of the mast, starboard side, just in front of the sail track, that go into the sail track?
