Put one on our '88 H L-35 in '89 and it's very helpful to keep salt water out of the bildge and out from under the engine. Previously, water would mix with any oil under the engine making it difficult to clean that area. Also, less moisture under the engine should help reduce rusting.Basically, we maintain a dry bildge except for any leakage into the boat from other leak sources, which is another reason to install it.Recommend some Lanocote or other antiseze material on the set screws during installation.Don't forget to burp it when the boat is put back into the water. After about three to six years the collar will need to be moved aft slightly, about 1/4-inch, to put more pressure on the bellows as the bellows looses some of it's elasticity. You'll know when to do this because there will be some slight leakage which will ocassionally get worse with time.
