Kevin, The shaft seal leaks slightly while under way. It did not do this when new. Is there some maintenance item I need to do. The boat is two seasons old. Thanks.

Adjust the tension

Hello Randy, It sounds like you should simply loosen the four setscrews in the stainless rotor and compress the bellows more by pushing the rotor aft towards the carbon. This will increase face pressure between the rotor and carbon section, which will reduce the waters ability of passing between the two. If you see any calcium present clean the surface with some 400 grit wet and dry paper. Please let me know if you should have other questions. Hope this helps. Kevin

Worked for me..

Randy, My PSS shaft seal had the same problem after about two or three years and I moved it aft per Kevins suggestion to increase the pressure on it and haven't had a problem since. Lets see, thats been twelve years now that it's been on the boat. It was a little difficult to move it aft, probably because of the crud on the shaft.

Thanks Kevin and John.

I will give it a try, but I will not get to check until Spring since I hauled out last week.
