We just purchased #1271, a 2014 Fin keel, std. rig from Michigan and have brought her home to TN. Glad to find this resource! I'm compiling questions but will start slow as to not wear everyone out. We do quite a bit of evening & night sailing so battery power for LED running lights only is important. My first question is regarding battery sizes and more importantly placement. What do you have and where is it located?

I'm guessing you need a group 24 battery. One thing to consider is the weight savings vs cost of the LiFePO4 Deep Cycle batteries. In my case I saved over 30 lbs when I replaced my flooded lead acid battery with this one:

Also you might consider adding solar charging. For that, there are plenty of write ups on the forum. I basically copied what Gene Neal did to mount a solar panel off the pushpit.
