Does something like this already exists? A hatch that doesn't degrade in the sun and also keeps UV rays and most heat out of the cabin without using a cover? If not, think it would be possible to make a hatch cover that lets light in but not UV rays? Maybe create some kind of UV protected flim that can be placed over the glass but tucked in and transparently glued to the top of the glass. Unlike applying the film to the inside of the glass, this would actually protect the glass as well as the interior of the boat and help keep temps down inside without blocking all the light and therefore the need to remove covers. If the film is simi-strong and glued tightly against the glass, it should mostly stay in good shape against normal uses. What do you think?
