I have a 1988 Oceanis 350 with a new Volvo D-130 engine. 30 hp. The new prop is a 15x10 and I cruise at only 5-5.2 knots at 2800-3000 rpm. I think I should be able to go faster at lower rpms. Is this prop pitched incorrectly? Any and all help will be appreciated. Bob Gales B350 Soleil

Have it repitched

Bob, seems as though you need the prop repitched. Not sure who did the installation but I'd go back to them for their advice and hopefully a free repitch. What speeds did you see at what RPMs with the old motor/prop? I have a 361 with a Westerbeke 30B and Autoprop driving her. We usually run 2700-2800 RPMs at 7kts cruise speed. While I know the hull shape and motor are different but I would think you should be able to run 6 to 6.5 plus kts with her. Good luck Mike

You should get better than what you're getting - since you have prop issues already, have you considered some type of feathering/folding prop? On my OC400, I get 7kts @ 2000 RPM (Perkins 50hp with Max-Prop)
