Just purchased a 1988 Pearson 27. The original 2 blade prop was replaced with a 3 bladed prop not spec'ed to the boat. I want to change to a standard 2 blade prop. It has a Universal 12hp, with a 2:1 gear reduction, 1" shaft. Does anyone have the prop specs? Thanks

The 2 blade propeller for a Pearson 27 of the late vintage (88-91) is:
Michigan Sailor 13RH8 - 1" for the 12 HP Universal Diesel. I just happened to have my prop off and here in the basement to read the model number.
Good Luck,

Thanks for the information. I really appreciate the quick response.

Like you I have owned several sailboats prior to the 27 ranging from a 17ft. to a Cal 36ft. Anything you can share on the sailng characteristics of the Pearson27?

Sorry, but can't yet. I've not ever sailed her. I bought her at a warehouseman's lien auction and then took everything out of the interior to rebuild. The engine is back in and much of the interior is back in with fresh teak oil. It was nice to have the bilge bare and get a coat of paint on it. I had to have the diesel tank welded for a few pinholes that had developed under the cloth straps. I had to cut the longitudinal aft bulkhead to get the fuel tank out. With one new vertical seam batten, no one will know I did, but it will be easy to get the fuel tank out again if needed. I'll soon be installing my new hot water tank (Superstor SS6M) and getting ready to launch this year. So I'll have to answer your question in the Fall. Everything that I've read, says that the 27 is a superb boat.
Best Regards,
Bruce
