Propeller selection

Hello,

Please forgive me if this topic has been discussed before, but I'm looking for help selecting a new prop. The boat is a 1989 Pearson 36-2 with the shoal (wing) keel and Yanmar HM35F diesel. The boat is used for cruising the Chesapeake Bay.

I'm looking to improve motoring smoothness and performance by upgrading from the original two-blade prop to a three-blade. Can anyone recommend a brand-name, diameter, and pitch for a fixed three-blade prop with which they have been very satisfied? (Folding props are not being considered due to cost.)

From your post, I understand that you're not going with a folding/feathering prop. However, as a point of comparison, I had a 3-bladed 15" Max Prop installed during the winter refit. Pitch has been set to 14 degrees. My engine is a Universal M25.
