Hello to all: I'm passing along a book recommendation to all interested. I have for the umpteenth time finished reading a book by Dave Geer entitled PROPELLER HANDBOOK. If you have any interest in the engineering aspects of propellers, boat speeds and related topics you may want to consider having it as a reference. It seems that each and every time I read it get something new out of it. Hope you enjoy it as I have. Sincerely, Kevin L. Woody

Propeller Handbook, ditto

Have used this handbook before and just recently went thru to try to optimize my current propeller sizing. Using the data in his handbook for three blade props I found that the best efficiency of the propeller I could utilize was in the area of 40%, yet the fundamental equation used for Horsepower estimates assumes a propeller efficiency of 55%. About the only way I could obtain such an efficiency is to use a very large diameter propeller, which would not fit! Still looking for an efficient propeller that will fit on my Hunter 36.
