Propane tank questions

Yeah, probably not much of a worry. The current series of Oceanis boats (well, the 35, 38 and 41) and very small propane tank locker. Only one 5 lb tank can fit. After talking with a local knowledgeable guy, I am going to fill the spare and keep it at home as there is no good, safe place to store a spare tank on these boats. When the pressure is getting low in the tank on the boat I will swap them.

Pressure is not a reliable means of determining volume of a propane tank, as the pressure will stay constant until it's empty, at which point the pressure will drop like a rock, and it will be too late. That's why I bought the scale I mentioned earlier. Either weighing a tank, or a gauge with an internal float are the only ways to tell, except this one trick: when the tank is in use, you might see condensation on the tank where it's gas and none where there is liquid inside. The liquid level is the useable gas level of the tank.
