My propane stove wont stay lit. Stays on for a while, then shuts off. ANyone know what the probable culprit is? And is it a simple fix? Thanks, Bob F

I have worked in the propane field for the last 8 years... what type of stove is it, electronic ignition or manual lighting, what is the pressure reading at the regulator gauge, and is it a gradual decrease in flame or is it instant?

had a similar problem....
with a new dickinson 2 burner propane. it would work fine sometimes and other time not at all.i found that the little fitting in the center of the thermal couple had come loose for some reason and was only making contact occaisionally. once i pushed it back on to its tit it worked fine. go with a flow chart. are you getting gas? if so at a rate enough to burn? and so on. i find it easier to start at one end and work to the other til the problem goes away. works better than hit and miss.....martin

Standard Hunter stove (1998), 3 burner and oven. The stove top is push button ignition, the oven is manual light. Oven lights up fine runs for a while then goes out. Pilot light goes out and has to be re-lit each time too. The stove top works great with no problems.

check the fresh air intake for the oven
make sure there are no obstructions near it. try running the oven with the door ajar, if it stays lit it could be an air intake problem. I had an oven in a camper once that wouldn't stay lit above 6000' elevation without the door ajar slightly. I shimmed out the bottom of the door to create a 1/16"crack and it worked fine after that.

Last time this came up, it was the tanks solenoid. P.S. Just saw that the stove top works good, never mind.
