Greetings all, My wife and I are new at sailing, although we have been power boating for over 30 years. We have always had electric ranges on our power boats (generator on board) but are new to propane cooking. My problem is that I cannot get the propane to light on either the range or oven. I have plenty of gas, and I can hear the solenoid click when the wife hits the switch. We had it working once, but not since. I suspect a faulty solenoid, even though I hear it click. (plunger sticking?) I have shut off the main valve on the tank (shows 80 psig) and had the wife active the switch and go through the light sequence. The residual pressure did not drop which leads me to believe the solenoid is not activating. QUESTION: If it is the solenoid, does anyone know the type and model of the unit and where I can get a replacement? We have a 1998 410 Hunter. Thank you for any advice you can give me. Regards, John C. Ellis C&J Hammond Marina slip E16 Hammond, IN

80 psi seems low

I would have to go out and check, but I think 80 psi is low for the propane pressure. I have seen this before on my H380 after I refill the tank. Try turning off the propane and then unscrewing the fitting. Re attach the fitting and make sure it is very tight and then open the valve. I think it should be about 120psi.. I will go out and check my pressure in a few minutes to verify that is the right psi. Brian

air in the system

You could have air in the system. Try using a lighter that has a continuous flame and hold it at the burner while turning the propane on. It could take 5 - 10 seconds to get the air out. My propane pressure is between 70 and 90 psi depending on the outside temperature so 80 psi sounds normal to me.

140 psi

Just checked.. Mine is sitting at 140 psi.. Turned the stove on for a couple of second to clear the line and see if I got a pressure drop, but it is still at 140... Let us know what you find out. Brian

parts list

check your owner's manual, John. Hunter has specified every piece of equipment supplied with your boat. In the case of a 1998 410, you'll find the selenoid part number on page 62C.
