Propane bottle rail mount

This has probably been asked before but searched and can not find the info, two questions.

1. Where can i get a rail mount for a 20lb propane tank?

2. Does the sun and weather have any effect on the fiberglass see thru propane tanks?

#2 Yes.. I would have a cover made of Sunbrella (or equivalent) to protect the epoxy from UV degradation.

See through propane bottles

The only advantage I can see in the see through bottles is the ability to see how much propane you have left. This is not enough to overcome the problems with getting them filled when away from home. The steel tanks, you can just walk up almost anywhere, and swap your empty for a full one. Plus the see throughs are a little pricey, when compared to the normal steel tanks.

Question for Nice and Easy

Question ? what is different about getting the steel tanks filled vs the fiberglass tanks ?? or are you refering to just swapping out tank for tank ??

he doesnt use big tanks..lol---the fiberglass ones someplaces wont fill--i hope thati smostly rumor--i havent heard otherwise here in kali----i use big propane tanks on my boats---i just get them filled--is easily dont--i donot swap tanks---i have aluminum ones so far i want to get the fiberglass ones also for the formosa......most of the places we went i have seen the fill tank ---- i will ask next time out...i have same interest as do you--and for my ericson i had to have a mount created for m y tanks..to fit the stern rail.......

I think you will find that the fiberglass tanks are much lighter than steel. I also believe that they are not much difference in price than aluminum, which is probably the norm in a saltwater environment.

The cost to exchange tanks is expensive enough to pay for the fiberglass unit in a matter of a couple of years, depending on your usage.
