Propane Bottle on Coach Roof?

I have a 1984 CATALINA 30 and am searching for a place for a propane bottle. Dont want to sacrifice space in lazarette...inflatable fits there. Stern rail has Dinghy O/B on one side, Barbeque on other side and a ladder in the middle. Under cockpit port seat is also out of the question. Soooooooooooooo.............I thought about building a fiberglass box and mounting it on the coach roof in front of the mast. Has anyone tried this yet and how well is it working out?

I owned an old Columbia 31 that had the propane bottle behind the mast. It was in a teak box. So it seems there is no reason that you could not put the bottle infront of the mast . Make sure you have a solanoid hooked up.

Ive seen tall thin bottles on rear rail they are about 6" by 18" mounted up and down like afier extinguisher.I think they held 6lb of gass and where made of aluminam .Ive seen them in defender or WM
