When I motor over 2000 rpm I get a vibration of about 1 Hz. The more over 2000 I go the worse it gets. I aligned the engine, changed the oil, changed the fuel and filter. All the above were suggested cures. The vibration is still there so I am think prop, but what is the right one?

The way you worded your post suggests the frequency of the vibration wasn't changing with rpm. Could be any number of things. You might want to check on the shaft alignment and condition of your cutlass bearing. Also make sure your engine mounts are in good condition & secure. If the vibration frequency varies with rpm, check the shaft to see if it's bent. Sometimes the boat structure just resonates at a certain frequency. Sound deadening materials around the engine compartment might help to reduce the acoustic energy coupling.
