Hi,
Anyone had experience ordering a prop shaft from deepblueyachtsupply?
Their price is $350 better than competitors and I'm wondering about quality or issues.
I'm ordering a 1" dia propeller shaft for my C34 used in Ct waters. One supplier recommends the higher priced Aqualoy 22 stainless steel material because of higher corrosion resistance, but other suppliers say it's overkill except for larger diameter commercial applications, and to use Aqualoy 19. Any experience with corrosion in this Ct-NY waters?

Compare the two here:

I recently had this debate with myself. For my needs, at 34.125" length on a 1" shaft the difference was a measly $40.00 difference between 19 and 22; the decision was easy. I went with the 22.

What is $40.00 in the scheme of things, especially since we are talking boat dollars....

Phil,
Did you order your shaft from Deep Blue? If yes, would you recomend them?

I did order from them. I have not received my shaft yet, but they came recommended and the order process was very straight forward and easy. So... no recommendation either way yet, but stay tuned...

I bought my new 1" prop shaft here at the SBO store. It came with a matched and balanced engine coupling too. I don't see shafts listed anymore though. They had the best price too.
