I have a 1990 Hunter 33.5 with a Yanmar 2GM20F, 2.62:1 Transmission, 15"x11"x1"RH 2-Blade prop and vibration at 2800+ RPM. Alignment was done last year. What is the recommendation for a fixed 3-Blade prop, diameter and pitch?

Well. . .

Check the Yanmar prop guide at www.torresen.com. It specs 16x10 for a 2-blade or a 3-blade, which I find unusual. I have a '88 33.5 but it's 3 hours away and I don't recall my prop specs offhand, other than its a 2-blade fixed on a 1" shaft on a 2GM20F. I'm assuming the reduction gear is the same as yours, but I don't know that.

Three blade unit

Dear Bob: Our records show that the recommended three blade is a 16” x 10” three blade. (right hand?) If the vibration, which you mention in your note, is being caused by the two blade, the three blade should eliminate it. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Kevin L. Woody
