after a recent expensive lesson about unmarked crab pots, i was wondering the experience people have had with prop spurs/protectors? i live in an area that is loaded with some type of traps year round and would love to never have to haul the boat again due to an unmarked trap. does anyone have any good/bad to say about the prop products out there?

Rope Cutters for Greg Estep

Hi Greg, I am looking at the article right now. It is in the October issue of Sailing Today. Page 64 - Group Test - Rope Cutters. The item covers 7 sides so is a bit long to scan and e-mail. Sailing Today is a UK magazine published by 'Future Publishing' www.futurenet.com. Also further info on www.sailingnet.co.uk. look in geartest. I could not find any reference to the rope cutters on either site but it seems to be their policy to show the results of their tests so you might contact them and ask. Maybe it is too soon after the article. For info the test was very thorough with plenty of pictures. Regards, Don.

Cutters

I purchase Sailing Today at BARNES AND Noble. I live in Kansas City so it should be avilable where you are. AS smeone stated earlier it is a fairly long article, I would send you a copy but I don't have a scanner or fax. The Stripper is at www.ropestripper.com. Don't know if it can be found in US. Spurs is also rated very highly. Made in US. By the way once you see this magazine, you will wonder why SAIL,Cruisng World and even Practicle Sailor are not more profssionally formated and so void of useful content.
