paint /scraper
Hello DarkNStormy, Most of my sailing is in the less saline waters of the upper Chesapeake Bay. However, on an O'Day 30 in Florida the yard painted the thru hulls, prop, shaft, and hull with a yellowish "undercoat" prior to bottom paint on the hull. When complete the shaft, prop, and thru hull fittings were left with the undercoat exposed. I don't know the name, but I hope the description helps. Also, (and I realize there is a difference in water temp and maybe clarity)owners regularly scrape barnacles or have a diver do that task. The barnacles will definately cause a decrease in prop thrust and will probably cause vibration. 31seahorse
