I have a Honda 9.9 XL on my H26. Has anyone tried to change the prop on this combination to get a little more speed per RPM?Thanks,Dean"Chateau du Vent"
I have a 1980 Honda 7.5 on a 25.5, the engine was not pulling the proper rpm so I had the local prop shop repitch the prop, they removed 2", this now lets my engine rev to the manufactures specs. The speed before and after are too close to measure, I was only concerned with damaging the engine from lugging it.
I got a new prop for my honda 8 hp it gave more power for docking and quicker starts but motor had to run at 3/4 throttle to get 5mph, with original prop I could get that speed at 1/3 throttle this would make the tank range to small.
Hi Dean,The hull has a formula speed of about 6.4 kts. That's about it unless you're prepared to add a tremendous amount of power. It would be very touchy to handle the boat if the speed was dramatically increased. Repitching the prop could provide you with more low end power for pulling, maybe that's what your trying to achieve, but this really isn't a planning sport (except the odd good time!).Have fun on the H2OLarry Barnes"CNTRL SEA"
