prop bushing-had to replaced after 5 gals of gas??

I have a year 2000 5hp Honda long shaft on an Oday 222. The prop and bushing needed to be replaced last year. I just had to have it replaced again this year.I only used 5 gallons of gas in this time.Honda didn't have an answer.Any ideas?????

Are you plowing the garden with it?

The prop shouldn't need replacing unless it is worn out. The bushing ought not go bad unless there was excessive play that allowed wear.

Galvanic corrosion?

Doesn't matter how many gallon you ran through it if the motor was left in the water all season. Tim R.

Prop bushing

Have you checked the prop shaft to see if it is bent slightly. If origionally you hit something and bent the shaft a tiny bit, then you will be constantly replacing the bushing untill you have straightened or replaced the shaft. Doesn't take more than a couple of thousands to knock out a bushing.
