Some time ago I read about a gasoline additive that can be applied to prevent slime/barnicle buildup on props. Does anyone recall seeing this?

STP oil treatment

Hello Dave, It was STP. Not real good for the fish though. If the prop is going to sit idle for periods of time try Desitin diaper rash ontiment. (its Zinc Oxide) Sticks good underwater and can be applyed underwater. Its inexpensive and the fish won't turn belly up with it. Hope this helps. Kevin

Zinc Oxide works on Dinghies Too

Zinc Oxide - Penaten is the brand of choice up here - is a perfect bottom coat for your dinghy too. Wipe it on, preferably in the hot sun, and you are good to go for the entire season with no slimy growth on your undersides. At $5 a tub it is the best buy in the business.

Hey Bob...

What is Penatin and where can I find it? Is it a diaper rash cream that I would get at a drug store or is it a chandlery item?

Desitin

Hello Bob, The diaper rash cream I have used is made, or at least packaged by, Desitin. Food stores, drug stores and big gas stations would carry it. Hope this helps. Kevin

silver antiseeze compound

I was told by the yard owner where my bottom was just fixed is to use the silver type of antiseeze<sp> compound used on screw threads. I am trying this now. He told me the fising boats in our area use it.
