Prop Anti-fouling

Are there any anti-fouling paints that stays on the propeller to keep the barnacles from attaching?

Doubt that there is anything.

Karl:I doubt that there is anything that would really work unless the coating could be impregnated into the prop.The problem we are dealing with is the fact the the prop is spinning at approx. 1000 rpms (for most inboard sailboats). Considering the friction from the water and misc. things (such as sand, dirt etc) that are in the water, there is not much of a chance for the coating to stick for very long.If you leave the boat in the slip and don't use the engine almost anything will work. (STP, diaper rash medication even grease)

Hi Karl, Steve has some good advice...

The marine repair facility where I had some work done told me that two liberal coats of Desitin (used for diaper rashes) on the prop and shaft seemed to work especially well for them. I have not checked the prop and shaft since I put it on eight months ago. Terry

I used the clear paint ,

That is used on outboards, I cleaned and polished the prop, then used the clear primer and bottom paint on the prop (a folding Martek) I had No barnacles on the prop, but had a few on the shaft that had the West Marine CCP bottom paint on it. The boat is in New Jersey, in the past we did have barnacles if the prop was not painted.

that John mentioned is the best that I have used. Made for power boat outdrives. You might want to make sure that it is not applied between your zinc and shaft.
