Recently I have had occassion to order from McMaster-Carr small items. Some circular cotter rings, Drill bits, wire brushes etc. Just this past Monday I ordered the cotter rings and received them mid-day today. Not long ago I ordered from another vender a stock item, a router bit if I recall, and they took two weeks, and charged enough for postage and handling to have sent it next day air.

Sounds like Harbor Freight Tools.... Four weeks for ground shipping!! I know Maine is off the map but we are not in a remote village in Zimbabwe..:confused:

I now only order from companies that ship orders the day they are received... HFT sat on my "in stock" order for 2.5 weeks!!

I have to agree with only ordering from outfits that ship same day I too use McMaster-Carr and WW Grainger and I'm amazed at how fast it gets to me
Defender is also one of those get out the door today company's that I love doing business with and these days I do a lot of shipping on line for my contracting business and getting the product asap is important

McMaster-Carr is an excellent vendor... It drives me crazy when a vendor says something is in stock, but can't ship it the next day. They're just sitting on the float for the credit card charges or incompetent... which is pretty cheesy IMHO.

I've used McMaster Carr for years, they are always on top of things and have good fast service. I've been lucky since I've never had a problem with them:)
