About 2 weeks ago Hunter told me that the 170 was being rated and that the rating would be available in 2 or 3 days. Does anyone know what the status of this project is? Thanks

Preliminary rating is.....

HTR170 no spi17'1"14'3"7'"150 (M&J) asym opt."4'6" cb480#kick-up rudder[92.3][94.0][92.5][89.0] Not sure how to decipher this but maybe it will make sense to you.

I think I do

It would appear the first number is the rating without the chute and the last number is the rating with the chute. The numbers in between who knows. Thanks.

Will Boats Be Certified

And how is this to be accomplished. I assume those last four numbers are the ratings that are applied depending on rigging. If we are going to be a class, we will need Leadership and administration to insure our fit within racing and competition. I look forward to seeing some of you young people stepping forward and giving us some managable rules and controls. You will have my support. I am at Buggs Island Lake this week and enjoying the sailing. I have been watching this thread and wondering what we will have. Has anyone gotten into any intensive racing. I usually like to dog other Hunters of greater than 17'1". This 170 will get up and go when the wind is running over 5 knots and it gets hard to handle above about 17 knots. I added a wind vane since I found one at a reasonable price and simple to install. I rigged a box full of packing to carry it in. It has helped tremendously on these lakes except when it start to doing 360's and of course I stall out then too. These inland lakes are amazing.
