I started this thread after Debbie hit here. It will be very interesting to see how Progressive does after a disaster. After Charley hit in '04 on Friday the 13th, I called Boat US who was my insurer at the time and they were here on Wednesday and gave me a blank check for repairs that amounted to $11,000 on a boat that had minimal damage. Unfortunately it took a year to get everything done. Not BoatUS fault at all just 1000's of boats ahead of me.

My advice would be to move your boat to somewhere it can be repaired as fast as possible to get in line. The adjuster will come to your boat anyway. This isn't like a car wreck where blame needs to be assessed. The sooner you can get someone to start the better.

Just my 2 cents.

Now, there's an idea.
The admiral wants to do some sailing in the Chessy. Maybe now's the time to move the boat there, get it fixed and sail there next season. Then move back to BB.
I need to give this a little more thought.

I just called boatus for a quote on an oday26 and was told anything over 20 years old requires a survey. Anything I can afford is over 20 years old.
