I'd like to find a solar controller that is programmable for Accept, Float, and Equalization voltages, and will allow me to initiate equalization.

It would be ideal if it was an MPPT controller.

The maximum power I need to control if from a pair of 120W panels.

I'm searching, and have a couple of hits, but I would appreciate input from experienced folks.

Thanks,

jv

Please do yourself a favor and don't EQ with a PV array or an alternator for that matter.......

My Blue Sky 2512 had an issue after 4 years of good service. I sent it in, 3 yrs out of warrantee, and they replaced it no charge. To fully adjust it, you need their external control device, I forget what they call it. But I was able to program it to specs that matched my battery banks needs.

Maine Sail,,, what's the problem with using solar cells to equalize a flooded battery? I used to do it monthly when cruising on the boat. When the batteries were topped off after a long motor run and a few hours of sunshine left, I would disconnect the solar controller and let the voltage go up to about 15-15.5v for a couple of hours. Would keep a close eye on the gassing of the trojans and replenish water afterwards. Are the modern solar controllers not able to safely equalize?

Midnight Kid from Midnight Solar. Has an on screen menu.
I have mine set up so I can either charge a 48 volt propulsion bank or the 12 volt house bank.
