I've had it! So, here is the situation that I face way too often: The head's pump breaks continuously in one year intervals. I'll be using it and it will be working well and then the disk on the end of the piston comes loose and it stops working. Over the years and more diagnostic inspections than I care for, I discovered the problem is that the E-clip that fastens the rubber disk on the metal rod corrodes and fails. So instead of sucking the waste through the pump and sending it to the holding tank, the little rubber disk lies at the bottom of the cylinder waiting to be retrieved. Taking the pump apart is a lengthy process and fixing it is all too disgusting, I replace the E-clip so that the handle once again moves the rubber disk up and down performing its duties flawlessly. 364 days eighteen hours and twenty six minutes later I lie on the floor doing the same thing again. I figure that if I could come by a stainless steel E-clip, my problem would be solved. I arrived at this conclusion more than two years ago but I still have not found a stainless steel E-clip. Where could I find one?Does anybody else have this problem? What do you do to avoid this travesty? And any funny stories that you may have about finding yourself in deep $h1t are more than welcome.
