On the Hunter 450's does anyone know if a inline breaker is somehow wired in between the electrical pannel and the inverter. I don't think that I am getting AC to the unit. All of my circuit A switches are not working, fridge, water heater, outlets, meter is showing 0 volts coming in.

I am pretty sure on my 2000 freedom is supplied by a outlet breaker on my panel and 12 volt battery cable from the 1/2 both switch,my inverter goes on and off from my inverter/charge panel.
What meter is showing 0,are you getting shore power and check the breakers next to the shore power plug in.

Thanks,
On the main electrical panel when I select A the meter reads zero, when I select B it get 120 Volts. When I run the generator it's doing the same thing. The A bank won't work, but I can run the B bank which is the air conditioning.

Dare I suggest you trace your wiring and figure out how it is all connected?

Stu,
That is precisely what I am working on doing. Unfortunately, I have to be in the office today and my batteries are low and have not been charged since Friday, so I am trying to get a head start on things using the forum.:cry:

I hear ya, office is a lesser alternative to being on the boat. Only thing is that there's not much more we can do from here.:cry::cry::cry:, too!

Like Jeff's post on his I/C, remember that the I/C has a built in transfer switch but so much depends on which Option for wiring (from the manual) was included.

If you don't have a manual, they're available on Xantrex's website. Lotsa wiring options, especially for larger boats.

Good luck.

There is a breaker

The inverter runs through a breaker on the AC panel. This feeds one leg of your AC loads, such as outlets, etc. The other AC leg is for Airco units.
Look on your AC panel. You should find it

Thanks Art,
So I am assuming that there is an inline breaker or fuse somewhere behind the panel? I hope that is the case because I really don't want to have to pull out the inverter/charger.

Just wanted to update since others may have this issue in the future. There is no inline breaker of fuse behind the panel. The only breaker is on the panel itself. I finally traced my problem down to the inverter/charger. Once I connected the incoming and outgoing AC directly, eliminating the inverter/charger from the loop, everything on circuit A is working and the meter is showing 120 volts. This means that something is blown on the Freedom 2000 unit.
I spoke with an authorized repair center in Florida and the gentleman told me that the least expensive repair (replacing one circuit board) would end up costing me almost 500$ including shipping and have a 90 day warranty. Now I am considering purchasing a new Xantrex Freedom 3000 Pure Sine unit with a new remote panel for around 1400$. If anyone has other recommendation or ideas please let me know.
Thanks

I have a very good suggestion

I want you to consider switching to Mangnum Energy. The Magna Sine unit us what Hunter currently uses. I could give you a lot of reasons, but it boils down to service & support.
You will not regret making the switch over

Inverter

My boat was on the hard last summer for new bottom job and shoulder surgery and while on the hard with lots of summer storms and maybe electrical surges blew the circuit board relay inside the inverter.
I took it to service guy in I think Bradeton and yes $500 later it is working fine,I was going to buy new but decided to repair, all outlets run off the inverter and by passed it to have outlets working while getting it repaired.

Art,
Thanks for the recommendation. I was able to manhandle out the old freedom unit last night and after come careful measurements I determined that I do not have the room for one of the new Xantrex Pure Sine units. They are a bit wider than the unit that came out. It appears that the Magnum units are a bit smaller and would fit the space. I was also told that the same remote cable would work with the Magnum, but not with the Xantrex? Can anyone confirm this? Art, Are you suggesting the Magnum modified or pure sine?

I bought my Hunter 41 brand new. First thing I did was throw away the Heart Inverter (I had nothing but problems with Heart on previous boats) and installed a MasterVolt inverter/charger. Works great.

Thanks Everyone for the input. I will be installing a Magnum 2800 Pure Sine unit this weekend and will report back on Monday.

I had the same problem on our 42 passage and one of the breakers on the inverter was tripped and that made the "A" side of the AC panel dead! This happened when we were trying to use to much power at one time!!
