Boat goes forward under power fine. It won't move in reverse. I checked and shaft is turning. I spoke with someone and they said even though the shaft is turning it may be slipping in transmission. Has anyone had this problem?
Apparently no one else has experienced your problem. Since it isn't specific to an O'Day, perhaps you'd have better luck re-posting on the 'Ask All Sailors' forum. Suggest you identify the make/model of transmission you have. Also, do you have a fixed blade or folding prop? If it's folding, perhaps it needs more revs in reverse to unfold? Just a thought.
