my 393's solenoid valve on the lpg stove system overheats and decreases the gas output. When first turned on, gas output is fine. Do I need to just replace the valve, and if so what size? These come in 1/4" or 3/8" sizes. This is a real pisser as the boat is a 2003 model... please advise.

You're not the only one

Matt, There has been much discussion and a solution to this problem on the Beneteau 393 discussion group at Yahoo. Call Beneteau and they will refer you to the manufacturer for a replacement. I have added a link to the discussion group site.

Same Problem

Matt, I also had a similar problem with my 2000 411. I was able to locate a replacement solenoid valve at BoatUS that is an exact replacement for the OEM part. It is an easy swap out to do yourself. Remove teh screws that hold teh propane bottle box in place so thatyou can slide the whole unit up to be able to remove the fasteners that hold the valve in place. Ensure that you use teflon tape when you reconnect all the hose fittings. Good luck,
