Pro Furl Roller Furler

Hello can anyone help? I am new to roller furlers, mostly sailed with hanked on Jibs, etc. What has happened is this furler is real hard to unfurl or furl. My question is this..does the extruder fit into that plastic piece. Has it slipped out?
I also hope that the shroud might get me through anouther year of coastal sailing. When the boat was delivered to the house it looked to me like it might have slipped down, or if it was like that all summer maybe it contributed to the reason it was so difficult to use. Any help would be appreciated

I was ready to junk the profurl setup on my O'Day 40 to the point where I had purchased another drum from a consignment store. With the help of the manual and the "new" drum, we discovered that the two "pins" which hold the assembly off the turnbuckle were not "setscrews", as the po may have thought, but required holes to be drilled to hold the drum assemblt up. when this was acomplished, everything worked, and works, like a charm and the consignment store cheerfully (really) refunded my $400.00.
