I am about to change the primary & engine fuel filters on my '85 H31. I had no problem locating the Yanmar engine filter for the 2GM20 but I have not been able to locate the primary Fram filter. I believe its a Fram C1110PB and have not been able to locate that number locally. One wild goose chase led me to a Purilator C1110PL as a replacement but I don't think that's a valid replacement. Any ideas for a good source and the right number from someone who has done it ?

Fram?

If it's a Fram, then it may be able to be ordered. Pep Boys ordered a difficult-to-find filter once.

I Switched

I Switched to RaCor primary fuel filter. I got the one that has a clear bottom bowl so you can see if any water is accumulating. I installed it as soon as I bought the boat over 11 years ago and change the filter at least once a year. They're GREAT!

Agree with Craig

We also installed a Racor right after we bought our H31 12 years ago. Change the filter element annually, and you should get great service from the Yanmar.

Thanks for the replies

Thanks for the replies. I agree that the Racor is a good replacement but at the moment, I'm just dealing with what I have. I found a NAPA number (NAPA 3110) which is supposed to be a direct replacement. I plan to change both filters very soon, so I'll find out for sure, but, the NAPA filter appears to be the right size.

Fram

I have seen the Fram water separator/filter at BoatUS and I believe WM used to also carry it in their catalogue.

FRAM Fuel Filter

John, Just wondering if you replaced the Fram filter, and if so, where you obtained the replacement element. I also have the C-1110 filter and have not located a replacement part... John
