Oday 23 Apex
I have a boat that I truely love to sail. "Affinity" is my second O'Day. She is a 23' joy to single hand or with freinds. 1978 hull and main sail, 150 Genni is newer and not sure what year the 9.9 Sailmaster is though it runs good. I have put a tandem axle trailer under her and she pulls rather nice with my 1500 chev. I need to work over the electrical system lights and breakers showing their age. Overall the boat, rigging, trailer and motor are in sailing condition. My question is I have the desire to sell and get a land yacht Camper for the wife and kids but do not know what to ask for her. I have looked all over the web and it seams that anyone that has a 23 is keeping it forever. Looking for priceing ideas. Pete

I would hang on to it Pete. You may be kicking yourself later for letting it go. Campers are OK but you have to shell out money everywhere you park it. Not so with with a sailboat. You can anchor it anyplace you like and sail to other favorite places. Myself, I feel safer out on the water at night anchored in my favorite cove than I do on land.

I'D just like to echo what the old fuzz face cap't said... Much safer out on the water and cheaper too.

If you are going to camp, camp on the boat. You have a camper that can double as a sailboat. Or you can be like me, 25 years later.

I've been in the same position, my girl is an avid hiker/backpacker on the AT (appalachain trail) for years. I like a few comforts , so we purchased a slide in camper for my truck.
The camping situation, for me, was much more expensive. than having a docked boat 24/7 at the marina........

BTW. That O'Day looks great!

I sold my slide-in camper two years ago. Went everywhere. In a few years I'd like to get a small motorhome and do some more traveling while I'm still good.
