Preventing a hood furler housing from rotating

For those of you who have hood furlers, what techniques work best to prevent the lower housing from rotating? A simple piece of line rarely works

What secures the lower housing from rotating now, the stem chain plate? A picture would help.

A piece of line attached to the stem. There's a lot of distance between the stem and furler. Pics to follow. I did find the modifcations you made to yours. I may do something similar
