Preventer attachment

Hi, Jim. Is the chainplate/turnbuckle a good attachment point for a preventer? Can the steel and the glass in that area take the horizontal loads, as they are obiously primarily designed for vertical loads. Thanks

Good Question

I'll be interested in Jim's comment. I always assumed that the midship cleat was good, but it is braced for a horizontal pull as you suggest. I wonder if he'll recommend attachment to the plate for the outside shrouds.
