Preventer attachment

Jim,This is one I posted while you were away, and it seems to have faded into cyberspace, so I'll ask again. Are the shroud chainplates turnbuckles, etc. satisfactory points of attachment for preventers and BoomBrakes? Since they are designed for vertical loads, I wonder if they (and the surrounding fiberglass) safely take the horizontal loads that this produces.Thanks again.

Same question for barber haulers

Are the chainplates also good points for locating a snatch block barber hauler? I think that Jim Bohart or someone from Hunter Marine should answer this one.

Since you asked

I've used the stanchions bases for both functions...temporarily. It never occured to me to use the chain plates because they seemed too far out of the way and at the wrong angle. If you want a permanent attachment point I'd install a pad-eye to the deck and back it under the headliner with a backing plate. The deck is strong enough for this app. So are the chain plates but they just seem in the wrong place to meJB
