Preventative maintenca tips

Hello friends,As a soon-to-be owner of a brand new Catalina 310, I was hoping to get tips on what standard preventitive maintenance I should plan on keeping up with. What do I need to do on a regular basis to the hull, sails, rigging, plumbing, engine, etc?Thanks for your suggestions.Carl

This is topic fit for multi-volume books. I'll mention some items in my "boat shelves" in my garage. Consider stocking up on these and using them.sandpaperteak oil/varnishmineral spiritsvariety of natural bristle brushessteel woolmetal polishesmarine-tex (brand name)gel-coat repair materials120v battery chargersolar paneldistilled waterbattery testerelectrical tapeliquid elec. tapespare wiresail sewing kitsail repair tapechafing gearrubbing compoundcarnuba waxsoap/comet/scotchbrite/bleach/cleaner-of-choicebag of ragslithium greasefogging oilanti-seize threadding compound (protects bolts from corrosion)holding tank treatmentcarpet/upholstry cleanervariety of bucketsThese are items which see action at least once a year. The sail repair stuff is worthly to keep handy regardless. There are also the items that find use "every so often" that are longer-term maintenance issues which are not included.
