Hello friends, As a soon-to-be owner of a brand new Catalina 310, I was hoping to get tips on what standard preventitive maintenance I should plan on keeping up with. What do I need to do on a regular basis to the hull, sails, rigging, plumbing, engine, etc? Thanks for your suggestions. Carl

Small Start

This is topic fit for multi-volume books. I'll mention some items in my "boat shelves" in my garage. Consider stocking up on these and using them. sandpaper teak oil/varnish mineral spirits variety of natural bristle brushes steel wool metal polishes marine-tex (brand name) gel-coat repair materials 120v battery charger solar panel distilled water battery tester electrical tape liquid elec. tape spare wire sail sewing kit sail repair tape chafing gear rubbing compound carnuba wax soap/comet/scotchbrite/bleach/cleaner-of-choice bag of rags lithium grease fogging oil anti-seize threadding compound (protects bolts from corrosion) holding tank treatment carpet/upholstry cleaner variety of buckets These are items which see action at least once a year. The sail repair stuff is worthly to keep handy regardless. There are also the items that find use "every so often" that are longer-term maintenance issues which are not included. At any rate using these items will serve well while you search out your specific needs. Enjoy-- Rico
