O30 with alcohol stove and oven
That fitting is exactly what you think it is and a hand pump can be used to pressurize the tank. I would have to go and look at my (avail) O28 to see the max pressure, but I have gone with the inflator on a battery eliminator because it is so awkward to hand pump the thing. As far as procedure, start with everything off/shut, pressurize the tank to about 15 psig, open the tank isolation valve, crack the valve to the burner you are going to use until a TINY bit of alcohol comes through to the bottom of the burner. You don't even really want to see it. Shut the burner valve. Light the alcohol and let it burn out. Then crack open the burner valve, light the burner and adjust the heat. The initial lighting preheats the tube that volatizes the alcohol into a gas. When you are all done, secure the burner, then the tank, then depressurize the tank. It takes a few tries to get the procedure down, but once you have it, there isn't a lot to it. Just don't get heavy-handed with the initial shot, or you will be replacing the curtains over the stove. Hope this helps.Bill Coxe, O28 (avail)/O40, New London, CT
