Just getting around to draining the anti-freeze in the fresh water tanks. Last night I went to the boat, flipped on the pressure water system, and nothing happened but clicking & whirring noises for several minutes. I shut it off after a while because I was afraid of damaging something. There is about two gallons of anti-freeze in each tank and no water (two tanks at 10 gals. each). Is the problem that they need to be bled? If so, how does one bleed them? Thank you.

I had a similar problem a couple years back...it could stem from the thickening of the anti-freeze which will not allow it to flow. try putting in some water an see if begins to flow.

Just curious. Is Golden your last name? My wife's maiden name is Golden (from Baltimore). Wonder if you are related!

The pump is sucking air...

Antifreeze won't hurt the pump, but two gallons of liquid in the tank isn't even enough to cover the discharge fitting, much less flush out the tanks. You need to recommission the system--tank and plumbing. I've posted directions for doing that at least half a dozen times in the last couple of months, so you should be able to find 'em by searching. If not, I'll post 'em again.

Yes, Golden is my last name. I am oringinally from L.A. but my parents and brother, and most of my family were originally from NY. We, my wife and kids, moved to Bucks County 20 years ago and have been on the Bay for the past 14 years. We sail our C36 "Cheers" out of Great Oak Landing Marina, located in Fairleee Creek.
